As a Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School we aim to serve the local community as well as giving opportunities for all Primary aged children from outside our catchment area to get a first class education in a small rural school. Underpinning our work and our school ethos are the Christian values of love, compassion, friendship, kindness and joy. We have strong links with both the local Methodist and Roman Catholic churches, and appropriate teaching on other faiths and world views.

We aim to ensure that the standard of teaching, learning and achievement in all subjects is to the highest standard, always striving for excellence.  We pride ourselves on the friendly family atmosphere that fosters good learning.

The key Christian values which underpin our school life are truth, justice, trust, love, peace, compassion, forgiveness, reconciliation and redemption. Our school accepts and promotes these values for all.

The teachers are kind and understanding. We have nice books. They are interesting and we learn lots of new words.

Creating the right environment

Our pupils enjoy school and are motivated and challenged in the classroom by good teaching and a broad and balanced curriculum. Teachers are committed to raising standards through target setting, regular monitoring and reviews of children’s work. Children are made aware of what they need to do as individuals to improve and move forward.
